Biography
Abhishek is a 23-year-old player who hails from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. His all-round skills can
prove to be crucial for the Mumbai Khiladis side.
He started playing Kho Kho in the year 2009. His favourite memory is the time when he was
selected for the first time in the Senior National team. He has represented the Madhya Bharat
team. His has played in the 3rd International Test Series, received the District - Sanjay Gandhi
Khel Award and representing as a captain in the very first Khelo India.
He started his sports journey with football but after a while he realised that the football gear
like pads, shoes, etc is not financially feasible for him. But his cousin brother recommended him
to play Kho Kho as he had speed and agility. His younger brother also plays Kho Kho at National
level. He was the captain of the team in Khelo India Youth Game – Pune. His family wasn't
supportive enough about his sporting career but when he played the International Kho Kho
Series between India and Nepal in 2018, that's when his family started supporting him. He is
planning to complete MPEd post his bachelor's degree. Kho Kho has changed his life, initially
when he used to tell people that he is a Kho Kho player they used to question him about the
sport but now everyone knows about Kho Kho. He is now happy that people have started
understanding the game. He likes to play football, chess, badminton and long jump. Cristiano
Ronaldo is his favourite sportsperson.
